Creating
Circular Designs With Inkscape
based
on Bittbox’s
illustrator
tutorial
First, make some
simple shapes to use as patterns
If
you need some more
examples, go to the illustrator tutorial aboveNow,
we want to create a circle with a stroke and no fill
Select
one of your patterns and hold shift, then select the circle
(It’s
important that you select your pattern first)
Go
to
effects-generate from path-pattern along path
you
can
just use the standard settings and see what you get, or experiment a
little, I’ll stick with the standards for now
Ok,
but what if I
want something a little smoother?
click the edit path tool and
select all of your nodes(ctrl a)
now
click the add
nodes button until you get a few hundred nodes
and
try it again
see
the
difference?
You
can make some cool shapes with this
technique, so go wild
